AI now decides what people hear about your company before they ever visit your site.
If you run a call room, you already know the problem. You do honest work, and somewhere between a person's first question and your phone ringing, a stranger or a machine decides whether to trust you.
That decision used to happen on a page you controlled. More and more it happens in an answer box you don't.
Search stopped sending people to you. It started answering for you.
Google now puts an AI-written summary at the top of many searches. When one appears, people click far less. In a 2025 Pew Research Center study that tracked the browsing of 900 U.S. adults, people clicked a regular result link in 8% of visits with an AI summary, against 15% of visits without one. Only 1% of visits with a summary included a click on a link inside the summary itself.
So the summary is increasingly the whole story. Your website may be the best source of truth about you, and most people will never open it.
A call room gets judged by the word next to its name.
The Federal Trade Commission has real reasons to give careful advice to people who are thinking of selling a timeshare. Its advice is to research a company by name, including looking for complaints, before paying anyone. That is sensible advice, and it means every honest company in this space gets searched that way.
Now put an AI summary on top of those results. It reads whatever it can find, forums, old complaints, a competitor's page, a stranger's post, and writes one confident paragraph. If your own site is thin, slow, or hard for a machine to read, the summary is built from everyone else's words about you.
Now picture the same question when the company's own site is easy for a machine to read and carries a plain facts page: the registered name, a registration number anyone can look up, the people behind it, how it works and what it charges. The answer may still be careful, and we can't promise what any tool will say. But whoever is reading, a person or a machine, now has real, checkable facts in front of them, instead of only other people's words.
AI answers get things wrong, and they get their sources wrong more often than you'd think.
In a large 2025 study led by the BBC and the European Broadcasting Union, journalists reviewed more than 3,000 answers from ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini and Perplexity to news questions. 45% had at least one significant problem, and 31% had serious sourcing problems: missing, misleading or incorrect attributions.
That study was about news, not call rooms. We cite it because it shows how often these tools get the basics wrong, not because it measured anyone in our industry.
For a company that depends on trust, “mostly right” is not good enough, and you can't call the AI and ask it to fix the answer.
You can't control the answer. You can control the evidence.
Search engines and AI tools build their answers from what they can read. Here is what matters, and what the big platforms say themselves:
- Being readable. Many AI crawlers do not run JavaScript. In a December 2024 analysis by Vercel and MERJ, OpenAI's and Anthropic's crawlers, among others, did not execute it, so a site that only shows its content after scripts run can look empty to them. (Google's Gemini and Apple's crawler did render pages.)
- Being clear about who you are. Google's own guidance says there is no special trick for its AI features: crawlable, helpful, people-first pages, structured data that matches the visible text, and an up-to-date Business Profile.
- Being checkable. A real address, a real phone number, a registration someone can look up, named people, plain fees, and links to places that are not you.
- Being consistent. The same name, address and phone number everywhere.
- Being honest. Real reviews from real customers only. The FTC's rule against fake reviews took effect October 21, 2024, and covers AI-generated ones.
We build the foundation into every website we run for you.
Brand Shield is the part of CallRoom Pro that makes an honest company easy to find, read and verify. It comes with every company website.
What Brand Shield does
- Shows every page's content to crawlers that don't run scripts, as well as to people.
- Gives each page its own title, description and one correct web address, so duplicates don't compete.
- Publishes a sitemap and a plain-text summary of your site that tools can read.
- Adds structured data for your company, contact details and FAQ, built only from what you entered. Never ratings you didn't earn.
- Gives you a company facts page, the one that answers “Is Your Company Legit?”, showing only the facts you give us (legal name, registration, license wording, who you are, how you work, what you charge) with links so a visitor can check you.
- Lets you choose which AI crawlers may read your site.
- Returns a real “not found” for pages that don't exist, and keeps private pages (sign-in, contracts, offers) out of search.
- Lets your admin or customer service add real reviews with a confirmation, logged and dated.
- Puts your own name on everything. Your visitors never see ours.
What Brand Shield does not do
- It does not promise a ranking, traffic, or what any search engine or AI tool will say about you. Nobody can, and anyone who does is selling you something.
- It does not write or buy reviews, and it will not mark up star ratings. Google doesn't show stars for a company's reviews of itself anyway.
- It does not remove other people's reviews, posts or complaints.
- It does not make up facts. If you leave a box empty, it stays empty.
- It does not control Google, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or anyone else.
- It will not make a weak company look strong. It makes an honest company easy to verify.
Your part, and we'll help.
- Claim and complete your Google Business Profile, and keep it the same as your website.
- Ask real customers for honest reviews, the same way for everyone, without paying or pressuring for positive ones.
- Answer complaints in public, politely and factually.
- Fill in your company facts page and your own About and FAQ. Generic text helps no one.
- Keep your name, address and phone number identical everywhere.
Questions you should ask us.
Will this make me rank number one?
No. Nobody can promise that. Brand Shield removes the technical and trust gaps we can control, and gives your website the best shot at being found and checked.
Will it fix a bad review or a bad AI answer?
No. It can't edit what other people say or what an AI tool writes. It makes the true facts about your company easier to find, and it gives you a proper way to add honest reviews.
Do you write reviews for me?
Never. Reviews can only be entered by your admin or customer service, from real customers, with a confirmation that the review is genuine. Every entry is logged and dated.
Does the company facts page prove I'm legit?
It doesn't prove anything by itself. It puts your real facts in one place, with links, so a visitor can check you instead of taking your word for it.
Can I keep AI tools out?
Yes, it's your choice in your website settings: allow all AI crawlers, allow only AI search, or block them. If an AI tool can't read your site, it can only repeat what others say about you, so we recommend allowing it.
Will my website show CallRoom Pro anywhere?
No. Your website carries your name and your domain. Your visitors never see ours.
Be easy to verify.
The goal is simple. When a person, or a machine working for a person, asks whether your company is real, the honest answer should be the easiest one to find.
